A p-adaptive RKDG method for compressible flows with and without shocks

A p-adpative high-order RKDG method is presented. The purpose is to reduce the cost of the simulation by reducing the order of the polynomialbasis in regions where the flow is uniform, while keeping high-order accuracy in other regions. The more difficult problem of the use of this method together with a high-order limiter for shock-capturing will also be discussed. Some examples will be presented.
