Resolvent estimates for the Laplacian on compact manifolds with boundary

$L^p$-resolvent estimates that are uniform in the spectral parameter have become an important tool in many branches of PDE and spectral theory, such as unique continuation, inverse problems or Lieb-Thirring inequalities. I will report on recent joint work with R. Frank.
