In this talk, I will present recent advancements made in electromechanical modelling of the heart, covering both the ventricles, and the atria. While there are common electrophysiological features in the upper and lower chambers of the heart, there are also significant differences in function. Several projects from my lab will be presented, highlighting progress, but also areas that need to improve and basic data missing for achieving better correspondence with physiological function to increase fidelity of digital twins. Topics to be addressed include the role of structure in atrial fibrillation, the effect of the Purkinje system, and electromechanic function in the presence of infarct.
