We consider the linearised water-wave equations in an infinite-depth fluid with a partially immersed fixed obstacle. The evolution of the system is governed by a Dirichlet-to-Neumann operator on the free surface. The analysis relies on spectral methods, specifically the application of a Limiting Absorption Principle to this operator, to establish the local energy decay of the solutions.
