Yohan Brunebarbe Awarded the 2026 Frontiers of Science Award at the International Congress of Basic Science

The International Congress of Basic Science (ICBS) 2026, to be held in China this August, has announced the recipients of the 2026 Frontiers of Science Awards.

The 2026 Frontiers of Science Award in the category Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry has been awarded to Yohan Brunebarbe and his two co-authors, Benjamin Bakker (University of Illinois Chicago) and Jacob Tsimerman (University of Toronto), recipient of the 2026 Fields Medal. The award recognizes their paper o-minimal GAGA and a conjecture of Griffiths, published in Inventiones Mathematicae in 2023.
