In this talk, we consider solitary waves for the nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation coupled with the Maxwell equation. In the first part of the talk, we consider the solvability the Cauchy problem. In the second part, we study the existence of ground states for the corresponding elliptic system by the variational method. This talk is based on joint works with Mathieu Colin.
