Mathematical Analysis of Fluid-structure interaction models

In this talk, we introduce fluid-structure interaction problems and highlight key challenges in the field. We focus on the motion of multiple small rigid bodies immersed in a viscous incompressible fluid within a bounded domain. In the asymptotic limit, we demonstrate that the presence of infinitely many bodies does not affect the fluid flow. Notably, this result depends only on the geometry of the bodies and remains independent of their mass densities.
